The Last TV Doctor: Sylvester McCoy

Doctor Seven: Sylvester McCoy

This spunky little Scot (born August 20, 1943) was the final Doctor in the original series before its cancellation in the 80s. He was quite an interesting character in his own right, but it was suppressed by the poor quality of episodes towards the end. Yet, his legacy proved to be greater than the television program, as the series of Doctor Who books that have been published place McCoy back into the role of the Doctor again and again. Many of these books are of excellent quality, providing the character of the seventh Doctor with numerous fascinating qualities. The books, alas, are no more, which is a true pity. The fate of the Doctor was left open ended for quite a long time, until the coming of the Doctor Who movie: "An Enemy Within".
