Easter Parade [1948] is a film musical starring Fred Astaire and Judy Garland. The film was originally to have starred Gene Kelly, but Kelly was injured just prior to production and Astaire, who had announced his retirement from film, was coaxed back to replace him. Tap-dancer Ann Miller, replacing Cyd Charisse, who also had to bow out of the production, made her motion picture debut. Forget the plot; and, enjoy the talented cast performing 17 Irving Berlin tunes including the title song, of course. Easter Parade was based on a book by Moss Hart.

Music: Irving Berlin
Lyrics: Irving Berlin

Rainbow HR
In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it
You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade

I'll be all in clover and when they look you over
I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter parade

On the Avenue
Fifth Avenue
The photographers will snap us
And you'll find that you're
In the rotogravure

Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet
And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter parade
