Westland Sea King Mk3 Helicopter

This Sea King is in the colours of 202 Squadron, Royal Air Force. John Kirk was based at RAF Coltishall in the search and rescue role. He later flew both Sea Kings and the Wessex as the Search and Rescue Wing Test pilot.

This Captain Kirk wasn't in charge of the starship "Enterprise" but, his missions to the oil rigs in the North Sea were just as adventurous. (grin)![]()

Captain John Kirk's Last CommandPictured in U.S. Coast Guard colors is the Aerospatiale AS 365 N2, "Dolphin". Two-engine, 14-seat (2 Turbomecca turbo engines); maximum take off weight 4,250 kg, with sling load of 4,250 kg.
