Mr. Lucky Theme
|
|
|
Dedicated to my sweet Lorraine.
The motion picture featured Cary Grant as "Mr. Lucky" supported by Laraine Day, Charles Bickford, Gladys Cooper, Paul Stewart, and Henry Stephenson. Grant is a gambler redeemed by Day on behalf of the war effort. It was directed by H.C. Potter in his finest hour.
As an aside, Mr. Grant carried a roll of nickels in his pocket. The purpose of which was to give his right hand more "fist-power" in bare-knuckle fights. The Ol'Kunnel borrowed this trick for many years. |-)
Words by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans.
Music by Henry Mancini.
He:
They say I'm lucky, mister lucky guy
and you're the reason why.
She:
They say you're lucky, mister lucky guy
but darling, so am I.
They call us lucky, you and I, Lucky girl, lucky guy.
When you take my hand or touch my cheek
I know I'm on a lifetime lucky streak.
A lucky rainbow lights the sky when we kiss, when we sigh.
He:
They say I'm lucky, mister lucky guy
and you're the reason why.
She:
They say you're lucky, mister lucky guy
but darling, so am I.
