The turning point in the musical careers of
Don and Dick Addrisi, who wrote "Never My Love" for The Association, came when they
were fired by a television company. They had been writing music for the TV producer's
shows and also holding auditions for new talent. One unknown group, The Association,
impressed them so much that the brothers put up $1200 of the producers' money to get
instruments for the group. As a result, they were fired. Undaunted, they began writing
songs, such as this one, that helped give The Association its start. Soon they began
to write songs to give themselves a start as successful performers. The rest is
show-business history.
