Theme from:
New York, New York

Liza Minnelli, Robert De Niro, Lionel Stander, Barry Primus, May Kay Place played in this deliberately depressing musical. De Niro is an uninvolved, feckless jazz musician with little appeal, except in the eyes of an up-and-coming star played by Liza.
A sadly arrogant failure, awash with brilliance and felling and no sense of responsibility toward the audience. However, the theme is catchy, isn't it? The director was Martin Scorsese.
Words by Fred Ebb.
Music by John Kander.
Start spreadin' the news, I'm leaving today,
I wanna be a part of it New York, New York.
These vagabond shoes are longing to stray,
And step around the heart of it New York, New York.
I wanna wake up in the city that doesn't sleep
to find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap.
My little town blues are melting away,
I'll make a brand new start of it in old New York
If I can make it there, I'd make it anywhere,
It's up to you, New York, New York.
