Spinning Wheel

Although Canadian David Clayton-Thomas knew he had a hit song on his hands, the first company to record "Spinning Wheel" didn't think so. "It won't sell," they said, and refused to release the record in 1967. Eighteen months later, Clayton-Thomas's own rock group, Blood, Sweat and Tears, recorded virtually the same arrangement. Since then, the song that "won't sell" has sold more than 9 million recordings.
